Resume

When it comes to including your side business or part-time job on your resume, it ultimately depends on how relevant it is to the position you're applying for. In your case, since you are interested in pursuing a career in digital marketing, having experience running your own online stores can be seen as a valuable asset. It shows that you have a practical understanding of online marketing and have achieved success in this field. However, there is no definitive answer as to whether all employers would appreciate side businesses. Some employers may actually value the entrepreneurial skills and dedication that come with running a successful side business. They may see it as evidence of your ability to multitask, take initiative, and be proactive. On the other hand, some employers may view a side business as a potential distraction or a lack of commitment to a full-time role. This is especially true if the demands of the side business interfere with your availability or performance in the primary job.To strike a balance, you can consider the following options:1. Tailor your resume: Highlight specific skills, achievements, and experiences from your side business that are transferable to the digital marketing role you're applying for. Emphasize how these experiences have equipped you with relevant digital marketing skills.2. Focus on results and achievements: Instead of solely mentioning that you had a side business, showcase the measurable outcomes and impact you achieved through your online stores. Highlight any notable accomplishments, such as increased sales, customer engagement, or successful marketing campaigns.3. Showcase dedication and time management: Emphasize how you effectively managed your time during your university years by successfully juggling your studies and side business. This can demonstrate your ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.4. Consider discussing during the interview: If you're concerned about potential negative perceptions of your side business, you can choose to disclose this information during the interview rather than on your resume. This allows you to explain the value and relevance of your experiences firsthand and address any concerns the employer may have.Remember, each employer has their own preferences and company culture. It's important to gauge the specific organization and tailor your approach accordingly. Ultimately, if your side business experience aligns with the requirements and goals of the digital marketing job you're applying for, it can be an advantage to include it on your resume.
