The Department of Art, Design & Media in the School of Arts at Sunway University is looking for academics who are experts in interior design/ interior architecture, graphic and multimedia design and new media theories.

Responsibilities

This position requires a commitment to teaching, research and scholarly activities, and contribution to programme administration and management.

Research:

Conduct and publish high quality journal articles, conference papers and/or other peer reviewed outputs as appropriate to the subject discipline(s)
Supervise research projects, including Doctoral and/or Master’s students

Teaching:

Design, plan and deliver lectures, tutorials and other teaching and learning activities appropriate to their discipline, and subject to the requirements of the University
Contribute to the design, development, delivery, review and enhancement of programmes of study within their Department/School

Administration and Management:

Participate in internal and external events, such as open days, outreach activities, and visits to partner institutions and internship placements
Support and assist colleagues in ensuring the smooth running of the department and programmes

Requirements

PhD holder with a minimum of 5 years of working experience in a related field.
Applicants with experience in Adobe Creative Suite and exposure to the industry.
Applicants with strong research and publication track record are highly desirable.
Demonstrate creativity and innovation, as well as a high level of dedication as an educator, actively engaged in teaching, research, and consulting as well as community service.
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, a competent team player with mature and positive attitude.
Able to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
Has an educational philosophy that is aligned with the mission of the department and the university.
