Responsibilities and Duties

Assist Shift Charge Engineer (SCE) and Panel Controller on duty in operating and controlling the operations of boilers or Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), generators and auxiliary equipment in a safe and efficient manner as directed in a shift basis and accordance to standard operating procedures in line with Safety, Health & Environmental, and Quality requirements.
Responsible for monitoring site plant parameters and operates plant auxiliary systems as per instruction from SCE or CCR and to report promptly for any abnormalities found at site.
Perform routine pre-starts and post-starts check for plant system operations prior to start up and after the steady sate of operations as per planned schedule. Ensure the data recorded in the check sheet written accurately as per required.
Perform routine round check for capturing site plant operations data to ensure healthiness of the running system and report to CCR for any abnormalities.
Perform routine data collections from charts, meters and gauges at established intervals, and take corrective steps as necessary for daily statistical reports.
Operates other plant auxiliary’s equipment as directed by SCE or CCR such as Emergency Diesel Generator, Fire Fighting System, Water Treatment Plant, pumps and others as per plant testing schedule and monitor all the parameters as per specifications.
Open and close valves and switches in sequence upon signals from CCR, in order to start or shutdown gas turbines, HRSG, Steam Turbine and other auxiliary units.
Assist SCE to perform process isolations as required by Permit to Work (PTW) system.
Make adjustments or minor repairs, such as tightening leaking gland and pipe joints if required; report any needs for major repairs.
Monitor and inspect power plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems.
Act as firefighting Team member or Emergency response team (ERT) for the plant and attend the scheduled or planned related training.
Assist in normalizing of process isolations and recommission of plant sub system especially after maintenance completion as guided by SCE or PTW issuer.
Carry out and ensure housekeeping of the plant area to ensure kept clean and tidy all the times.
Ensure that plant equipment status that gathered within shift is relayed to the next shift appropriately and smoothly done and effective.
Comply with all applicable SHEQ legal requirements and our stakeholders’ specifications by establishing policies, programmes and practices in order to conduct operations in a healthy, safe and environmentally sound manner with safety first, quality foremost & pursuing excellence.
To perform other additional tasks that are relevant and necessary to accomplish the company overall objectives, which may be assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Qualification required:

Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or
Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Electronics) or
Certificate in Electrical Engineering

2. Minimum Mandatory Competency (License) required:

Internal Combustion Engine Driver Grade 1 (ICEDG1)
Steam Engine Driver Grade 1 (SEDG1)

3. Optional requirement or added advantage:

Authorised Gas Tester & Entry Supervisor for Confined Space (AGTES)
Authorised Entrant & Standby Person for Confined Space (AESP)

Working Experiences

Minimum years of working experience related to the work scope:

6 years working experience in similar industry.

2. Work experiences required:

Experience at least 4 years in power plant operations.
Knowledgeable in Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and process principle.
