Description

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Pre-Opening Phase and subsequent operation of the hotel. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maximizing financial returns while maintaining the highest standards of guest experience.

Preopening Phase Management:

Lead the preopening efforts, including recruitment, training, and operational setup, to ensure a seamless transition to full operation.
Collaborate with the corporate office and relevant stakeholders to develop preopening strategies and action plans.
Oversee the creation and implementation of preopening budgets and timelines.

Operational Excellence:

Drive innovation and establish a sustainable competitive advantage within the local & overseas market.
Collaborate with commercial functions such as Rooms, Food and Beverage, and Meetings and Events to develop comprehensive strategies for revenue generation and market penetration.
Utilize data analytics to measure performance and identify areas for continuous improvement.

Revenue and Sales Strategy:

Develop and implement revenue, marketing, and sales strategies in coordination with regional teams and the corporate office.
Partner with revenue and sales teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve financial targets.

Guest Experience and Service Culture:

Foster a strong service culture focused on delivering outstanding guest care and creating memorable experiences.
Implement structured performance reviews and accountability measures to maintain high service standards.

Financial Management and Compliance:

Develop and monitor hotel budgets and forecasts, taking necessary actions to address shortfalls.
Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures.
Oversee financial reporting and asset management, working closely with the Hotel Financial Controller and Technical Services team.

Community Engagement:

Build relationships within the local and overseas community to promote the hotel and establish a valued member of the community.

Requirements:

A minimum of 5+ years of full-service hotel General Manager experience is required
Strength in sales, revenue management, and food and beverage
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field (preferred).
Strong knowledge of local market desirable
Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate the daily operations of the property
Knowledge of data and analytics is a strong plus
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to assure optimum performance and continual improvement in guest service, employee satisfaction, sales/marketing, property appearance, and profit/financial controls
Ability to build a strong service culture
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
Proven experience in developing maintaining and leading strong and effective working teams
Budget and P&L expertise
Ability to develop and maintain effective operating and control processes designed to attain maximum operating efficiency
Ability to evaluate trends, new approaches, and practices to improve guest and team satisfaction and overall operational success
Tangible track record in maintaining and improving department profitability
Knowledge of Mandarin a plus
Experience with Lifestyle Brands Preferred
