What role you will play in our team

IT Engineer (Network) requires an individual to be able to facilitate an uninterrupted flow of information and keep our computer network running efficiently and effectively. These data networks include local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), intranets, and extranets.

The role is based in Menara ExxonMobil, Kuala Lumpur.

What you will do

Architect, implement, and maintain network solutions that provide core infrastructure, including private cloud, and integrate with services and systems running in virtual private and public cloud infrastructure
Provide project management for various network activities, including upgrades, implementations, and migrations, offering technical direction and user support as needed
Document end-to-end networking solutions to support global deployment of Network services including global backbone WAN, SDWAN, LAN and Data Center networks
Workon technical activities as an individual contributor in designing and commissioning networking systems/ solutions
Lead resource on project implementation and delivery of network technologies
Assess, plan and implement new network technologies/infrastructure as well as changes to existing technologies/ infrastructure
Leveragetechnical knowledge to develop designs and solutions
Provideexpertise across technical areas while maintaining proficiency in key technical skills
Interfacewith customers and other senior technical professionals in the organization
Assessimpact of significant changes to systems and supporting components
Provide expertise for critical production problem resolution
Explorenew technologies to improve efficiency and maximize performance
Actas an initial decision point for technical solutions within the work group
Install, configure and troubleshoot switches, routers (Cisco & Juniper) and wireless controllers
Install, Configure network security devices/firewall as per standards & policies (E.G Cisco ASA. Fortinet, PaloAlto)

The candidate needs to have the ability to work with minimal supervision and possess strong technical knowledge.

Role may require rotational on-call support during evenings and weekends.

About You

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in InformationTechnology (or equivalent), with focus on network engineering or minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
Extensive experience with network infrastructure and hardware
Proficiency with infrastructure devices, including switches, routers, wireless access points, controllers, and firewalls
Expertise in designing, monitoring, and repairing local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN)
Experience in deploying network virtualization (any technology or vendor, with preference Cisco, Juniper, Dell)
Experience in Network Automation (Python/ Ansible/ Powershell with experience using GitHub and calling API)
Experience with network security architecture and implementation
Demonstrated expertise in global network design and network technology
In-depth understanding of routing protocols (E.G BGP) and good knowledge on TCP/IP
Strong understanding of switching fundamentals and routing fundamentals: distance-vector, link-state, and path-vector routing
Solid experience with Network Devices and Network Virtualization technologies (routing, switching, WAN/LAN protocols, Wireless etc.)
Familiar with SDWAN deployment
Familiar with Network Automation and performance with focus on capacity planning, performance monitoring and automation
Familiar with technologies such as IPS, IDS systems, firewall virtualization, VPN concentrators, DMVPN, certificate handling, encryption methods, NAT (Network Address Translation), DMZ
Fluent spoken/written English and strong technical writing
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to multi-taskand manage workload under time pressure and changing priorities
Team player, work effectively as part of a global team; Able to be productive when working asynchronously with colleagues from around the world and exhibit willingness to help others
Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes
Self-starter and self-motivated

Work with minimal direction and flexible structure
Work in an unstructured environment to identify the steps required and best path to take to achieve project objectives

Professional certification (ex: CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE-ENT, CompTIA Network+, WCNA)
