Occupational Health Assessments:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of workplace hazards, including physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial factors, to identify potential risks to employee health and safety.
Perform medical evaluations of employees to assess their fitness for specific job duties, including pre-employment screenings, periodic health assessments, and evaluations following workplace injuries or exposures.
Occupational Health Surveillance:
Develop and implement surveillance programs to monitor and track occupational health risks and trends among employees, including exposure monitoring, medical surveillance, and health outcome assessments.
Analyze surveillance data to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement in occupational health and safety practices, and provide recommendations for preventive measures.
Health Promotion and Education:
Design and deliver health promotion and education initiatives to raise awareness of occupational health and safety issues among employees, supervisors, and management.
Provide training sessions, workshops, and educational materials on topics such as workplace ergonomics, chemical safety, infectious disease prevention, and stress management.
Medical Consultation and Treatment:
Provide medical consultation and treatment to employees for work-related injuries, illnesses, and health concerns, including first aid, acute care, and referrals to specialists as needed.
Collaborate with healthcare providers, occupational health nurses, and other professionals to ensure appropriate medical care and follow-up for injured or ill employees.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay informed about relevant occupational health and safety regulations, guidelines, and best practices, and ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and industry standards.
Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols to promote a safe and healthy work environment and minimize occupational hazards.
Risk Assessment and Management:
Conduct risk assessments of specific work activities, processes, and environments to identify potential hazards and implement controls to mitigate risks.
Participate in incident investigations to determine root causes of accidents, injuries, or illnesses, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with management, occupational safety professionals, human resources, and employee representatives to address occupational health and safety concerns and promote a culture of safety.
Communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization to foster engagement, support, and participation in occupational health and safety initiatives.
