JOB DESCRIPTION:

Apply knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology and bakery technology to maintain improve the quality of baked products.
Review and modify existing products and processes (for cost saving and quality//process improvement)
Formulate new bakery products.
Involve in production process, monitor/analyze/study to make improvement for process and product quality.
Generate and review production process parameter for each SKU.
Control the process parameter by working with QA department (verification and validation).
Select raw materials and other ingredients from suppliers to apply in new/ existing products.
Prepared product costings based on raw materials and manufacturing costs to ensure profitable products.
Conduct trial runs of new products together with product development team
Coordinate launches of new products.
Compile, check and approve product specifications and labelling.
Undertake long-term projects with other departments, such as reducing waste by improving efficiency.
Conduct experiments and produce sample products in bakery kitchen and production.
Design the processes and machinery for making products with a consistent flavour, colour and texture for mass production.
Research current consumer markets and latest technologies to develop new product concepts.
QUALIFICATION / REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in food technology / science or equivalent experience required. Preferably in bakery technology
Minimum 1 year experience in food manufacturing industry. Candidate with baking / bakery industry experience related to R & D is an added advantage.
Knowledgeable about all food safety standards that are customary within the food industry and mandated by government regulations, include the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) management system and ISO 22000.
Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment.
