The Technical Procurement Manager will develop and implement procurement strategies, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations, leveraging SAP By Design for optimal efficiency. This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure the timely acquisition of high-quality, cost-effective materials and services.

Job Requirements:

1. Procurement Strategy Development:

Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s technical and engineering objectives.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
Analyze and forecast procurement needs to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

2. Supplier Management:

Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure the best possible deals.
Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies

3. Operational Management:

Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery including purchase order closure, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Collaborate with the engineering and technical teams to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Manage the procurement budget and ensure expenditures are within approved limits.
Utilize the ERP to manage procurement activities, including purchase orders, supplier data, and inventory management.

4. Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement process.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement activities.

5. Process Improvement:

Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes and procedures.
Implement best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
Leverage the ERP to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness, including reporting and analytics capabilities.

6. Team Leadership:

Lead and mentor a team of purchasing executives, providing guidance and support.
Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development needs for team members.
Ensure the procurement team is proficient in using the ERP system.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering discipline. Masters in business administration will be an added advantage,
Minimum 5 years of experience in technical procurement, preferably within engineering and manufacturing industries,
Proven experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies,
Strong negotiation and contract management skills,
Strong organizational skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills,
Proficient in the ERP software, with a strong emphasis on SAP By Design,
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Strong skill in software: Microsoft office suites including Share Point and Team
