AlgaeVir Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated on the 24th Jan 2020 and is a start up algal biotechnology company with collaborations locally with Sunway University and with the University of Jena in Germany. We are based at the Hub SS2 Petaling Jaya where an algal upscale lab is located. The company will be setting up an outdoor pilot facility in the near future before bringing the technology to full commercial scale application. The highly experienced management team comprises of German, Danish and Malaysian experts within their own specialist fields. At present there are 5 staff members. All have biotechnology or life science degrees. We adopt an open innovation approach and actively engage with scientific partners in Germany as well as locally. Our core team comprises of individuals from marine biology, medical science and corporate management. Although we are a young start-up, we see a bright future potential as we are develop a common platform that addresses both livestock disease and Climate Change simultaneously. Our Technical team already has a proven record of successful transformation and recombinant expression in unicellular algae.
