Daiichi Art Space is a new branch of Daiichi Modern Art Gallery that was officially opened by Y.A.B. Chief Minister of Penang on 27 Feb 2016. The branch's main business activities include selling and buying contemporary and old paintings/ artworks, and organizing international art exhibitions, forums, seminars and activities to promote arts & culture.
About Daiichi Modern Art Gallery (Headquarter):
Daiichi Modern Art Gallery was established in 1998 by Dato’ Tai Keik Hock in Sungai Petani, Kedah state to promote arts. It is the largest private art gallery / museum in Northern Malaysia with thousands of contemporary visual artworks / paintings collections primarily from Malaysia, China and Southeast Asia. Its main activities include trading or acquiring contemporary and old paintings/ artworks, organizing international and local art exhibitions, as well as providing one-stop services for local and international artists: solo & group exhibition, artist residence, transportation, outdoor painting, tours, local food tasting, etc.
Major events:
1. 'Tradition to Modernity' international art exhibition officiated by His Royal Highness KDYMM Tuanku Sultan Kedah on 26 January 2003.
2. Co-Organized with National Art Gallery on “Mosaics of Malaysia” exhibition in conjunction of our nation’s celebrating the 35 years relationship between Malaysian-China by exhibiting Zhang Zhou at National Art Gallery, 12 June -31 August 2009.
3. 2014 Visit Malaysia Year International Art Camp and Exhibition in conjunction with 40th Anniversary of Malaysia-China Relations. Over 122 artists from 13 countries participated in this event from 19-26 November 2014. This event was one of the 1MCAT (1 Malaysia Contemporary Art Tourism) programs endorsed by National Visual Arts Gallery and Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia.
