Our company – Sun Holding Co., Ltd. was incorporated in Laos under the Company Act, on 01st August 2003 as a private limited company. It is a wholly 100% foreign owned by Malaysian. Our company’s core business purpose to invest in the country of Lao P.D.R. is to assist in developing better standards of living for the people of the Lao P.D.R. and also to support the true notion and ideas of ASEAN spirit. Our company aims: 1. To accelerate and spear head the economic growth, social progress and cultural exchange between both countries, Malaysia and Lao P.D.R. through joint endeavours in the spirit of equality and partnership 2. To provide job employment for skilled and non-skilled workers 3. To provide opportunities to the people of the Lao P.D.R. in the form of training and exposure in the professional, technical and administrative spheres; 4. To maintain close and beneficial cooperation with existing international and regional organisations with similar aims and purposes, and explore all avenues for even closer cooperation among themselves

At present, our first principal project of our investment in Laos which is the first ever international five-star hotel alongside Mekong River in Laos has been completed since year 2004. The next phase of the company’s investment will be the Xang Square Tourist Shopping Mall which will house approximately 1200 units of various sizes shop lots, departmental stores, supermarkets, with many other international brands aiming to improve the lifestyle and living standards of the country. As the purchasing power of the people in the country has increased, it is crucial for the country to have a shopping mall at this scale to cater for the needs and wants of its people and also to prevent outflow of spending to other neighbouring countries. The third phase will consist of constructing the new business center building, a three (3) star hotel, convention hall and serviced apartment. Other investments that our company has interest also include the expansion of the current airports in Lao P.D.R., banking sector, hospitals, specialist hospitals and clinics, and trading.

Don Chan Palace, Hotel & Convention is the first ever-International five star hotel in the capital city of Vientiane, Laos. It is strategically located along the infamous Mekong River within easy reach to the city’s Embassies, main business districts, major cultural sites and ancient temples. It is also ideally situated near traditional markets and local areas of interest and just 12 minutes away from Wattay International Airport. At 14-storey high, Don Chan Palace is the tallest and biggest structure in Laos, housing a lavish 240 modern and stylish rooms and suites. Each room commands superb view of both the Mekong River and full view of Vientiane municipality with exquisite standard of luxury, comfort and amenities. The conventional hall at 1700 m2 is the best in town boasting full facilities including wireless internet facilities, 5000 lumens LCD projectors, simultaneous translation devices and earphones for major events and meetings. Up until recently, major events that are held under the hotel’s roof includes: i) ASEAN Financial Ministry’s Meeting ii) Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit attended by the Leaders of the GMS including China, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Lao P.D.R. iii) World Ecotourism Forum iv) Francophone Summit v) AIPO Summit and the recently successfully hosted 25th SEA GAMES which the "billiard and snooker" tournaments were held the largest convention hall facility in our hotel and our hotel proudly accommodated the Crown Prince of Brunei with his royal family, Prime Minister of Cambodia and many more other distinguished guests from all around the world.
