Welcome to Les' Copaque Production, Malaysia's No. 1 animation company. Our name, Les’ Copaque, originates from the Malay term ‘LAST-KOPEK,’ which refers to the last card you put all your hopes and dreams on in a card game. Established in December 2005, Les’ Copaque Production Sdn. Bhd. (LCP) is at the forefront of Malaysia's animation industry, providing opportunities for local graduates to showcase their talent. We specialize in producing high-quality 3D animations featuring local elements with global appeal. At the core of our journey is a simple story that resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Our Managing Director, Haji Burhanuddin, and his wife, Hajah Ainon, aimed to create an adventure story set in a Malaysian ‘kampung‘ background. This led to the birth of Les’ Copaque Production's first project, the 3D animated movie “Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula,” launched on 11th September 2007. Alongside the movie, we introduced the now-iconic animated twin boys, Upin and Ipin, in a short spin-off animated series. To test the acceptance of 3D animation among Malaysian viewers before releasing “Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula,” Haji Burhanuddin came up with the idea of creating a short animated series centered around the concept of fasting during the month of Ramadhan, as the majority of Malaysians are Muslims. The endearing characters Upin and Ipin were chosen as the stars of their own series due to their easy-to-model and animate features, making them a perfect fit for our creative endeavors. The content and storyline for “Upin & Ipin” the series were co-written and supervised by Haji Burhanuddin and Hajah Ainon, ensuring a heartwarming and engaging experience for our audience.
