INTRODUCTION
Yayasan J’Keb Malaysia (YJM) was founded on 2009 with the intention of providing a temporary alternative transit home and support system for the teenagers who have no family, a home or a place to go after reached the age of 18 years old; which requires them to leave the government welfare homes or orphanage institutions.
After the transition in management on June 2019, YJM agreed that any program hosted will be expended to underprivileged youth from privately owned orphanages, community orphanage centers and any family with poverty issue. This decision has been officially stipulated in Surat Ikatan Amanah.
Aligned with Social Development Goals promoted, Yayasan J’Keb Malaysia will continue :
To Implement YJM INTERVENTION / EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM that could help to improve the trainees' self-esteem, motivation, surviving skills and looking forward to live a better life.
MAIN OBJECTIVE
As a Non-Governmental Organisation who works very close with underprivileged teenagers, we will strive our best to align ourselves with SDGs Goals. We would eventually help to reduce National poverty rate to a much lower level by conducting many programs that can help to empower them. We are on our way in addressing the following SDGs: -
Quality Tertiary Education: The needs to help them to enroll into Tertiary Education has the highest direct impact to the target group as it enables the target group access to quality education, which may have not been made aware to them previously.
Poverty Eradication: When the target group is equipped with the essential life knowledge and skills, he or she may be able to utilise those to feed themselves and/or assist others in their community whom (may not) be within our reach (too far, unknown whereabouts).
