MySTEP Personnel Contract Term & Duration

The employment contract under the MySTEP (Malaysia Short-term Employment Programme) is flexible and designed to meet the needs of short-term employment. Here are the details of the MySTEP contract period:

Minimum Duration: MySTEP employment contracts have a minimum duration of one (1) month. This allows employees to take on short-term projects and gain work experience in a short amount of time.

Maximum Duration: MySTEP employment contracts can last up to twelve (12) months. This allows employees to engage in long-term projects and gain deeper knowledge and skills.

MySTEP Personnel Application Requirements

  • Malaysian
  • Aged 18 years and above
  • Have a Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) with at least credit in Bahasa Malaysia or other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Malaysian Government

Salary & Allowances

Type / Complexity of Tasks Based on Academic Equivalence and Public Sector Rates (RM):

  • Bachelor's Degree: RM2,000
  • Equivalent to Malaysian High School Certificate (STPM) / Diploma: RM1,800
  • Equivalent to Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM): RM1,600

*MySTEP salary will be increased by RM100 to between RM1,500 and RM2,100

General Criteria

  • Minimum academic qualification - SPM or Diploma/STPM
  • Have skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English
  • ICT and MS Office skills
  • Writing skills
  • Living around Cyberjaya/Putrajaya/Dengkil/Sepang/Seri Kembangan/Puchong (preferred)
  • Good health

From 2024, job seekers can apply for positions offered by Ministries and Government Agencies under the My Short Term Employment Program (MySTEP) exclusively through the MYFutureJobs Portal
