1602精釀啤酒的品牌故事

1602年，回到婆羅洲島的初期。那一年，婆羅洲島地圖正式由Cornelis Claes出版，记录了荷兰航海家Oliver Van Noort来到婆羅洲岛的航海旅程。该地图屬於其中最早也是最完整的婆羅洲地图。

Oliver Van Noort 是第一位環繞世界的荷蘭航海家。他于1598年7月2日，带着四艘船，共248位船员從荷蘭鹿特丹港启航。途经巴西的里约热内卢，圣克拉拉岛，巴塔哥尼亚海岸，麦哲伦海峡，智利，秘鲁海岸，菲律宾，爪哇岛等地。旅途艰辛，面对气候恶劣，船只损坏，还遭受印第安人的袭击。

这地图描绘了Oliver Van Noort于1601年1月1日抵达汶莱海域试图锚点定船只时，受到许多约有100艘本地船只围绕。 Oliver Van Noort以和谐的方式和汶莱苏丹交涉，说服苏丹他是没有敌意，以和平前来。

The Brand Story of 1602 Craft Beer

1602 is a historically significant year for Borneo Island. It was in 1602 that the map of Borneo was officially published to the World by Cornelis Claes, in recording the voyage of the Dutch navigator, Oliver Van Noort, to Borneo Island. This map belongs to one of the earliest maps of the complete Borneo.

Oliver Van Noort was the first Dutch navigator to circumnavigate the World. He set sail from Rotterdam, the Netherlands, with four ships and a total of 248 crew members on July 2, 1598. Passing through Rio de Janeiro, Santa Clara Island, Patagonia Coast, the Strait of Magellan, Chilean and Peruvian Coast, the Philippines, Java Island and many other places, the journey was arduous, marked by bad weather, ship damages, and huge losses to attacks by the Indians.

This map depicts roughly 100 local boats clustered around Oliver Van Noort’s vessel when it attempted to set anchor at the waters of the Brunei Empire on January 1, 1601. Oliver Van Noort negotiated with the Sultan of Brunei in a harmonious manner, convincing the Sultan that he was not hostile but had come in peace.

On August 26, 1601, Oliver Van Hoort returned to Rotterdam with only his last ship, The Mauritius, and 45 of his original crew of 248 men.

Oliver Van Noort's voyage, filled with challenges and difficulties, resulted in the first and most complete map of the Borneo Island, which was released in 1602. Noort’s effort placed the Island of Borneo on the World Map, and the World came to know this beautiful paradise that is the Borneo Island, tucked away in another corner of the World.

420 years later – in 2022 – having overcome great challenges and difficulties, involved technical, financial, political, regulatory and circumstantial, 1602 Craft Beer was finally born in Sarawak, giving the World the first and only fresh craft beer brewed in Borneo. The World is invited to redefine Sarawak. 1602 Craft Beer has given Sarawak a place in the World's beer brewing industry.

For centuries, beer producers have industrialized beer production in order to meet the World's high demand for beer. 1602 Craft Beer intends to subvert the trend of industrialized beer production, by insisting on returning to the original, meticulous brewing method, which gives beer its most original colour and fragrance and allows the taste buds the ultimate enjoyment. As if traveling back in time to 1602, our intention is to bring us back to the original root.

For the past 420 years, many sages and ancestors have guarded Sarawak and created infinite possibilities here in Sarawak, in Borneo.

For the next 420 years, we will continue to firmly guard our homeland and work together to create brilliance that belongs to the people of Sarawak.
